Room 107

WELCOME! This is your team work space. We have 6 to 7 teams and you are in Team 1. Please pair up or triple up into smaller groups; each group has one computer.
Please explore Evernote Diigo and Glogster and for each tool complete the following tasks:
  1. Based on the Stripling Inquiry Model, which phase could this tool support and why?
  2. Looking at the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner, which 2 or 3 indicators would this tool support?
  3. Write a brief description in a few sentences how you would use this tool to support learning; include the curriculum area and grade level.

Organize and report your findings on this page in anyway you would like. There is a facilitator in each room to help the groups get organized, keep on the timeline and offer assistance.

Time Schedule:
You will be exploring three Web 2.0 tools:
1:00pm to 1:35 -- Evernote (hint: check out their video tutorials http://www.evernote.com/about/video/)
1:40pm to 2:15pm -- Diigo (hint: watch the "Tour")
2:20pm to 2:55 pm --- Glogster (hint: look at samples of student's and teacher's glogs)

This would be a great way for elementary students to keep track of the resources they use on the web rather than have them try to write down every webpage.
Evernote would be great to add ideas, pictures, websites, etc. to creative writing ideas or writing genres (i.e. expository, persuasive, personal narratives, poetry, etc.)
Using this tool in this way would cover all 6 components of the Stripling Inquiry Model

One use for Evernote would be for students to have a place to collect a variety of media sources and then share this collection with the teacher. Different notebooks could collect data for different projects.
